1. What we collect

Information you give us directly. When you fill out a contact form, request information about speaking, advisory, or workshop services, or send an email through the site, we collect the information you provide. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number (if you choose to share it), organization, and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, certain information is collected automatically by our hosting platform (Webflow) and our analytics tools. This includes your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the referring site if you arrived via a link. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Information we do not collect. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not collect financial information or government identification numbers through this site. The newsletter (Ask Anything) is hosted on Substack, not on this site, and Substack handles subscriber data under its own privacy policy.

2. How we use the information

We use the information collected to:

  • Respond to your inquiries about speaking, advisory, press, podcast, and general questions
  • Schedule and coordinate engagements
  • Improve the site and understand how visitors use it
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Protect against fraud, abuse, or security issues

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Cookies and analytics

The site uses cookies, which are small text files stored on your device, to function properly and to understand how visitors interact with the site. Specifically:

  • Functional cookies are used by the site's hosting platform to deliver pages and remember your preferences.
  • Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are visited, how long visitors stay, and how they arrived. We use Google Analytics. The data is aggregated and used in summary form.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect how the site functions.

4. Third-party services

The site relies on the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:

  • Webflow (website hosting and forms)
  • Google Analytics or your equivalent (site analytics)
  • Substack (the Ask Anything newsletter, hosted off-site)
  • LinkedIn, Substack, and other platforms linked from the site

If you click a link to a third-party site, that site's privacy policy applies, not ours.

5. How we store and protect information

Form submissions and email correspondence are stored in TRA's business systems and accessible only to John Patterson and authorized members of his team. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect this information, but no system is perfectly secure. If you submit information through the site, you do so at your own risk.

We retain inquiry information for as long as it's reasonably useful for the purposes above, or as required by law.
